Sydney Beach Volleyball Events
Welcome to Sydney Beach Volleyball Community. This group brings people together to enjoy social beach volleyball, meet new friends and stay active by the ocean. Our events are designed to be relaxed, inclusive and fun, whether you are a beginner picking up the game for the first time or an experienced player looking for a social match.
We play regularly at Coogee Beach, rotating teams so everyone gets a chance to participate. The focus is on good energy, meeting new people and enjoying the beach atmosphere. After the games, many members stay for food or drinks nearby to continue socialising and building friendships within the community.

Maintain a healthy active lifestyle, get our bodies moving and enjoy the beauty of the beach, socialise, and play a game during a cool sunny weather.
Maintain respect to each other’s space. Follow our rules below.
We will be playing 6v6, 5v5, 4v4 at Coogee Beach on rotation so that everyone who attends gets a chance to play. We will have more than 1 nets for everyone.
The idea is to play the game and go to a restaurant/bar after for more socialising activities.
Takeaway food and eat at Rainbow Stairways, or dinner at Beach Burrito Co or Charlie’s Coogee, Coogee Hotel, or Pavilion for food and drinks.
Those who want to bring food and drinks at the beach to enjoy during the game are free to do so, just do not litter.
What to Bring With You
Water, sunscreen and jacket in case of unexpected weather.
SHOES*, ID or passport to enter any venue in Coogee.
Safety
For your safety, please look after one another and ensure you and others are safe and comfortable.
All Skill Levels Welcome
Beginners, intermediate and advanced players are welcome.
Those who attend and are waiting for the next game, introduce yourself, socialise, and get to know as many people as you can.
Arrive Early
Please try to be 15 mins early if you can.
Follow Rules
- Respect each other’s boundaries, opinions, backgrounds, races, gender, and beliefs.
- Avoid any cancellation, or if you must, notify the host 1+ day prior to the event.
- All RSVPed members must attend the event. Be sure to clear your schedule on this day.
- We promote a positive and fun environment. Remain respectful and friendly to all members in the group so everyone feels safe and comfortable.
- Do not throw rubbish. Maintain the beach clean and carry your own rubbish with you when you leave the area.
- You are responsible for your safety and the safety of others.
- Sydney Beach Events will not be liable for any health issues, damage, or injuries that may happen during the event. You participate at your own risk.
- For your own safety, swimming at the beach is not part of this event. If you go for a swim, swim between the flags and with friends. Swimming alone is not recommended. If you cannot swim, do not swim. You will be swimming at your own risk.
- Build lasting friendships, trust each other, and always ask for consent.
